Heartland Red Cross

Helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergency situations.

First Aid, Adult & Child CPR/AED, plus Infant CPR ($55)

All classes are held at the American Red Cross of the Heartland classroom (One Westport Court, Bloomington) unless otherwise indicated.

This course combines CPR and first aid training to teach participants to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants, children and adults; perform first aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, bleeding, sprains and strains; treat sudden illnesses, including poisonings and heat and cold emergencies; minimize the effects of shock; and recognize emergencies and take action. This course also includes training in using an automated external defibrillator (AED) on a victim of sudden cardiac arrest. Useful textbook helps students retain skills and serves as a reference tool in an emergency. Class split as one day of first aid training and one day CPR/AED training.

This class is designed for individuals who are not professional rescuers. Nurses, Lifeguards, EMS students, athletic trainers and anyone else who requires training to provide CPR in a professional capacity should instead take CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Option to take First Aid portion only, see First Aid.
