Basic Babysitter's Training ($35)

This course gives 11 – 15 year-olds the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion are used for a complete learning experience.

Learn how to respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care; make decisions under pressure; communicate with parents to learn household rules; recognize safety and hygiene issues; manage young children; feed, diaper and care for infants. Course fee includes an easy-to-use handbook, emergency reference guide, and CD-ROM.

Advanced Babysitter's Training ($35)

This course is specially designed for youths ages 11 to 15.  After successful completion of the course attendees will be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid. The curriculum also includes:

• Care for burn, seizers, severe bleeding & more
• Development of reading & relaxation games
• Practiced play skills
• Emergency recognition
• Conflict & temper tantrum resolution skills
• Emergency preparedness

Prerequisites:
Current Babysitter Certification
Must bring participant manual to class

Babysitting Bootcamp ($150)

This week long day camp style course gives 11 – 15 year-olds the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion are used for a complete learning experience. Learn how to respond to emergencies and illnesses with Infant & Child CPR and rescue breathing, Child AED training, care for choking emergencies, first aid, and other appropriate care. Participants will also learn how to make decisions under pressure; communicate with parents to learn household rules; recognize safety and hygiene issues; manage young children; feed, diaper and care for infants. General disaster preparedness is also covered.

Course fee includes Babysitter’s portfolio, an easy-to-use handbook, emergency reference guide, and CD-ROM.

Become an Instructor

Babysitter Instructor ($150)

This course is designed to train participants to be American Red Cross instructors ofBabysitter’s training. By developing their understanding of how to use course materials and evaluating student progress, participants will learn to help young people develop new skills and build their confidence. Fundamentals of Instructor Training is included in this course.

Prerequisites:
• Participants must be at least 17 years of age and pass pre-course written and skills tests

Babysitter Instructor Bridge ($45)

This course is designed to train current American Red Cross instructors to teach the American Red Cross Babysitter Training course by developing their understanding of how to use course materials and evaluate student progress.
